Admittedly, our newsletter production fell behind since the spring. Thank you to clients who made spring and early summer one of our busiest. The good news is that we have been hard at work on a number of exciting projects that could really improve your organization in the months ahead.

NEW Unique Leadership System for Working Leaders – A video based, self-facilitated version of our popular Lead Hand/Working Leader program.

Lead hands, team leaders and work leaders are an important and neglected part of the leadership team. The challenge for some organizations is that the budget often can’t absorb the training costs for what can be a large group of participants.

With this new program to be released in November, 2008 you organization can purchase the video and workbooks and deliver it on-site without the added cost of an external facilitator. Or if you have had us deliver similar training onsite and have some newly promoted leaders, this program can be a cost-effective follow-up.

Here are some of the key features:

  • There are eight DVD modules, with each being 90 minutes to 2 hours in length – perfect for multi-shift operations and a great way to spread out the learning over a longer time frame to maximize application and impact on your operation.
  • A separate DVD for the managers of the individuals in the training so they can be coaches and maximize the impact of the training.
  • A leader’s guide for an on-site coordinator that you designate. It could be someone from human resources or operations. The on-site coordinator helps manage some of the in-class discussion.
  • Participants document their insights from each session, discuss those with their manager and then submit an application journal that documents the impact they are having on their department.

Pit Crew Challenge  

 

Pit Crew Challenge – Greg Schinkel, President of UTDI had the opportunity to facilitate the Pit Crew Challenge in conjunction with Robert A. Parker and Associates. The Pit Crew Challenge is rated as one of the top experiential learning programs in the world. Participants are placed in teams of 5-7 and perform the tasks of a real NASCAR pit crew, changing four tires on a real race car. New Book: Irwin Schinkel and Greg Schinkel are in the final drafts of their next book focused on the link between training and development and the bottom line profits in your organization. Publication is expected late in 2008 or early 2009.
