Irwin Schinkel

Founder

Irwin is the founder of Unique Training and Development Inc.

His early experience was in retail and consumer credit.  This was followed by more than 30 years experience with General Motors of Canada Limited in both their high volume automotive parts division and in their non-automotive capital equipment division.  Irwin held positions in Sales Management, Strategic Planning and Human Resources, including Management Training and Labor Relations.  He then directed the marketing activity for five product lines, which included TEREX Earthmoving Equipment, Detroit Diesel Engines, Buses, Armoured Vehicles and Locomotives.

His experience ranges from the shop floor to the executive group—from those manufacturing the product to those marketing the product.

Irwin is co-author of Employees Not Doing What You Expect, an international best seller published in North America, India, Latin America and Korea.  The book reached number two on the Globe and Mail Business Books Bestseller List.

He completed his studies in business at McMaster University and has taken courses in Marketing at the University of Western Ontario and Labor Relations at Queens University. Irwin has shared his experiences by teaching Organizational Behavior for the University of Western Ontario, a personal growth course for King's College and numerous Management and Sales courses.

He is a frequent speaker at management conferences, sales conventions and association meetings.
